Email marketing is simply using email to communicate information about your business, products or services to a large number of people quickly and easily. It's the modern day equivalent of direct marketing via the post, but much cheaper.

MailChimp provides small-to-medium sized businesses or infrequent users the ability to send out 12,000 emails monthly and manage a subscriber base of 2,000 contacts for free! They call it the Forever Free Plan.
